Day Tour Adventures at Ilocos

(A sunny afternoon walks in the most beautiful street in the Philippines, Calle Crisologo Vigan City. June 2018)

The Ilocos Region is home to some of the country's most outstanding tourism spots. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that this trip to Ilocos is still on my short list of the best domestic trips I've ever had. If you want to travel back in time, Calle Crisologo is the best place to be. This tourist spot in Vigan City is a street of old Spanish structures, mostly houses of wealthy families and Filipino-Chinese traders. This is where you’ll see the famous cobblestone streets that represent Vigan’s image.

If you want an extreme and thrilling adventure while in Ilocos, make sure to visit Paoay Sand Dunes and book a 4×4 ride! Once you’ve finally decided to take the adventure, brace yourself for a bumpy but oh-so-fun ride like no other!

The scenic Old Quirino Bridge is called Banaoang Bridge. Spread across the Abra River, it majestically connects the two beautiful, transcending rocky mountain slopes of the town of Santa and the tail end of Bantay, both in Ilocos Sur. Considered as one of the country’s most beautiful bridges, this arch bridge, next to the Vigan Gap, is considered an iconic symbol of Ilocos Sur. Aside from its magnificent views, it is also widely praised for its marvelous engineering and grand architectural design.

I'd been wanting to see these big electric fans since I was a kid. I haven't seen anything like windmills before (not counting those in kiddie cartoons I used to watch). That's why appearing in front of these big fans was such a personal achievement.
